inspired by the fresh, bright, natural ingredients found on the honeygrow menu, Philadelphia artist, Tim Gough, took to designing a piece to add even more exciting color to our new Marlton, NJ location. Accentuated by the expression "wild, wild, life", Tim's mural challenges the viewer to form their own unique connection to the piece, and in turn, the space itself.

South Jersey native + high jump master, Priscilla Frederick, is all set to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, but not for the United States—instead she will be representing her father's home country of Antigua + Barbuda. We met with her before she embarked for South America to learn about her decision to represent a different country, her motivation + how the Olympic games aren't quite the same "big stage + bright lights" she dreamt of growing up.
New Jersey’s Flying Fish Brewing Co. has been a part of the craft beer movement since before there was a craft beer movement. We sat down + enjoyed a nice cold beer with founder, Gene Muller, to learn more about how his brewery got it’s start online + how sustainable practices make for a greener future + superior suds.
hg: what were you doing prior to founding Flying Fish?
we met with Alycia Alves, Founder, Owner + Instructor at CrossFit DT1 + Aspire, to learn how the CrossFit craze continues to grow throughout South Jersey, plus the rewards of running a small business in Cherry Hill.
hg: who originally introduced you to CrossFit?
As one of our fellow seasonal food advocates, and one of the few restaurateurs in the area with locations on both sides of the Delaware, we had to sit down with Joshua Lawler of The Farm and The Fisherman (both BYO and Tavern + Market) to chat trailblazing in the local food scene.
hg: what was it that inspired you to start Sustainable Cherry Hill (SCH)?
lori: about ten years ago, I was a former speech therapist and stay at home mom with two young kids and no background in the environment or sustainability. As I looked around, I started noticing the changes that were happening in the world. I began doing some basic research and documentary watching and gradually grew alarmed at the future we were leaving for subsequent generations.
This summer, we had the pleasure of bringing chef David Katz on board as our culinary director and now that he’s had some time to dive into our recipes, we want to share with you what he has up his sleeve. David has been using our Cherry Hill location as his 'unofficial test kitchen,' so we stopped in to get the latest.
We couldn't be more excited to announce our newest addition to the honeygrow team, Chef David Katz! David will be joining us as our new Culinary Director in September to lead our culinary team in creating new menu items and enhancing current offerings, while ensuring superior product quality + consistency as we expand beyond the Philadelphia region.
