we teamed up with Baltimore-based photographer, Ian Bell, to bring our new Rockville location to life. Ian's background is a mixture of music + photography, pulling inspiration from both mediums for each project he pursues. He often ends up marrying the two practices together when he hits the road on tour with a band—playing a set one night, shooting photos of performers the next.
our new Rutgers location features photos that showcase a journey through the seasons as captured by Rutgers-Newark alum, Martin Tadashi. A prominent name on Instagram, Martin's photos know no bounds—from hyper creative portraiture to sweeping cityscapes, his photography conveys a deeper understanding of not only the camera, but the subject as well.
What a year it’s been! We are excited to announce that our 12th location opens today at the new King of Prussia Town Center. Our sixth location in the Philadelphia region is located at the corner of Main Street and Village Drive, right by the new Wegman’s off of Warner Road. Anchored by a unique "silo" like feature, this 2,400 square-foot location was designed by Jennifer Carpenter Architect.

"It should never be just about the photo." Those words served as post-interview advice as we shot photos for our blog feature around Jeffrey Stockbridge's print studio (Stockbridge Fine Art Print) in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood. We were discussing how he approaches the individuals featured in his portraits; how he connects with them, learns their story + background—once that connection is made, only then will he ask for a photo.
Wilmington, Delaware local, Carlos Alejandro, is somewhat of a renaissance man and—as the mastermind behind #hgWilmington’s custom photography—we wanted get to know him even better.
Conrad Benner, lover of all things Philadelphia, is the man behind StreetsDept and the awesome photo series that adorns hgUPenn’s walls. They capture his perspective of West Philly as seen through his iPhone lens. As fellow Philly lovers, we had to know more about how he turned his for this city into his career. We spoke to Conrad while he was enjoying a little time on the West coast.
hg: how did StreetsDept get its start?
It is with great excitement that we announce the opening of our sixth location in Hoboken today! After an exhaustive process, we are thrilled to fling our doors open wide to the Washington Street community with business hours 11am-10pm daily. Formerly two separate businesses, our space at 120 Washington Street has been unified by our open kitchen + unique touchscreen ordering process with ample seating both inside and out.
